Nursery staff at Stockport Village Nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, are experiencing double the joy as an astounding nine sets of twins have enrolled at the same time, leaving everyone in awe. The initial surprise came when they learned that three sets of twins would be joining the nursery. However, their astonishment reached new heights when an additional six sets arrived, making it a total of nine.
The youngest among this remarkable lineup are five-month-old Lottie and Gracie Catterall, whose mom, Steph Doxsey, 31, also works at the nursery and has her hands full with these two bundles of joy. Among the new nursery attendees are one-year-old twins Elizabeth and Olivia Handby and Penelope and Grace McMahon, as well as two-year-olds Tobias and Arlo McHugh, Sadie and Lottie Dean, and Sia and Ava Vivaldi. Three-year-old twins Chloe and Emily Worrall, and four-year-old twins Rey and Joanie Layton and Archie and Ben Lowther complete this incredible gathering. Interestingly, only one set of twins among them is identical.
To ensure personalized care and attention, each set of twins has been assigned to a different staff member at the nursery, given the unique circumstances.
Nursery manager Lyndsey Cross, 46, commented, “We’ve always had a lot of twins, but to have nine is something else. We must be the only nursery in the UK to have this many. We think it’s quite funny and quite unusual. There must be something in the water. The other parents can’t believe it.”
Steph Doxsey, who works at the nursery and is also a mother to twins, remarked, “I’ve never heard of so many twins at a nursery. When they’re all together, they just sit looking around at each other like they’re thinking, ‘Oh, you’ve got a twin too.'”
This extraordinary gathering of twins has undoubtedly created a unique and heartwarming atmosphere at Stockport Village Nursery, where double the laughter, double the fun, and double the love are the order of the day.
