In a heartwarming tale of perseverance and hope, a 66-year-old woman in India has defied the odds by giving birth to triplets, consisting of two boys and a girl, after 44 years of marriage. Her remarkable journey has taken the world by surprise, possibly setting a new record for the oldest woman in the world to give birth to triplets.
Bhateri Devi, residing in India, embarked on her extraordinary path to motherhood through artificial insemination at the National Insemination Center in Hisar, Haryana. It was here that she received the news of her long-awaited pregnancy, and the world awaited the arrival of her bundle of joy.
The birth, although a moment of immense joy, came with its challenges. The three newborns arrived with low birth weights, weighing only 1.2 kg, 1.1 kg, and 800 g. However, their arrival was a testament to the unwavering determination and the power of science that made Bhateri Devi’s dream come true.
Dr. Anurag Bishnoi, who supervised Mrs. Devi’s treatment, shared insights into this remarkable journey. He revealed, “According to the birth certificate issued by a government hospital in Rohtak district, Bhateri Devi was born on May 21, 1944, in Madina village of Rohtak.” This extraordinary woman successfully conceived after three attempts at artificial insemination. The first two attempts yielded the implantation of only two embryos each time. However, on the third and final attempt, three embryos were placed in her uterus, and the miracle of life began.
