Her throat closed up and a tear was about to betray me, she thought she grabbed my arm but she really grabbed my heart.
In a second I managed to realize that they were giving me one of the greatest privileges of my life, one of the most important tasks (being a father).
I answered yes and that I had someone in me who was going to take care of her like the princess that she is.
There are no nights that I can go to sleep without saying good night from her, kissing her and telling her how much I love her, her mother definitely did an excellent previous job for me.
I never imagined that I would live an experience like this, there are many prejudices about single mothers, stepfathers, stepdaughters and all that nonsense that only drives people away, I prefer words like pa’o hija or amor, that unite, that love , that make us happy.
I wish you that someone like that comes into your life, someone who changes your life, who makes you get up to take her to school, paint her nails, help her with homework and learn that teaching and sharing is what is truly important.
