‘Friends Reunited’ Movie Coming Out in 2025?
Recently, a viral post claimed that a new Friends movie titled Friends Reunited: The One With Chandler’s Funeral would be released on the streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max) in 2025. The claim originated from a YouTube video posted on June 30, 2024, by the channel @ScreenCultureOfficial, which purportedly showcased a trailer for the alleged film.
The post suggested that the movie would feature the original Friends cast—Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc—along with co-creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman. It also speculated that Warner Media might aim for a summer 2025 release, following an expected taping in November 2024.
The video quickly gained traction across various social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), amassing over 187,000 views and interactions. Many users believed the trailer to be authentic, with some expressing skepticism and others reacting with excitement or criticism. One YouTube commenter asked, “Who are the greedy idiots behind this idea?” while another said, “I thought this was a parody at first. Seriously, this is happening!”
However, despite the buzz, the claim has been debunked. Screen Culture clarified in its caption that the trailer was a concept video rather than an official release. The channel specializes in creating fan-made trailers using altered or digitally generated content. Their “About” section describes their work as producing concept trailers for various cinematic franchises, including Marvel, DC, and Star Wars.
Furthermore, Snopes and other fact-checking sources found no credible evidence that Max had released an official trailer for a Friends film. No reputable media outlets reported on the existence of such a project, which would have been a significant entertainment news story if true.
As of now, there is no confirmation from Warner Media or the original Friends creators about a Friends Reunited movie. While fan enthusiasm remains high, this viral rumor appears to be purely speculative.
