The Internet Buzzes About Twins’ Remarkable Height Next to Petite Mother
A young mother has shared her astonishing experience after posting a video online featuring her holding her twin daughters. Alexis LaRue, 22 years old, was in for quite a surprise when her video went viral, leaving viewers awestruck by the size of her seven-month-old twins.
Before her pregnancy, Alexis, who hails from Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota, weighed 49 kilograms and stood at 5 feet 3 inches tall. However, by the 38th week of her pregnancy, her weight had increased to 82 kilograms.
Alexis welcomed her twins, Camila and Elena, in March, and they weighed a modest 6 pounds and 7 ounces at birth. Yet, at just seven months old, their weight has surged to an impressive 21 pounds each. In the span of seven months, these adorable infants have tripled their birth weight, marking an extraordinary growth journey.
Alexis remarked, “It seems like they really enjoy trying new foods. Whenever I’m eating, they look at me as if they expect me to share my food with them.” Alexis was overjoyed to learn of her pregnancy with her 23-year-old fiancé, Leo Mejia when she was 21.
“Becoming a mother was my sole ambition in life, so I was ecstatic when it came true,” she continued. “When I had my first ultrasound at six weeks pregnant, I saw two small sacs on the screen. Given that there were no twins in our families, I was both surprised and thrilled.”
The stay-at-home mom added, “In the twin community, babies weighing 5 pounds or less are fairly common. It’s funny because when I posted that video, I didn’t think much of it. I didn’t realize how big my children were until I started reading the comments.”
Some of the astonished viewers commented with statements like “Those look like eight-year-olds” and “If they stacked on top of each other, they’d be taller than you.” Alexis has also faced accusations of manipulating her videos or using filters to make her daughters appear larger, allegations she denies.
She stated, “I can see how the perspective in some of the videos may exaggerate the size of the babies.”
“Recently, I posted a video of me weighing and measuring the babies so people could get an accurate idea of their size. I’m also frequently accused of overfeeding them, although it’s incredibly difficult to overfeed an infant.”
“They’re both in the upper percentiles for weight and height,” Alexis explained. “Because of their rapid growth, I find myself buying new clothes for them regularly.”
Camila and Elena are simultaneously achieving milestones and gaining popularity on the video-sharing platform. Alexis said, “If there’s one thing I want everyone to remember, it’s that every baby is different. They all grow at different rates, but mine are growing the fastest. They’re incredibly resilient, happy, and full of personality. Don’t expect them to be anything less.”
