The couple’s path to parenthood was not without its challenges. Courtney’s first pregnancy ended in heartbreak with a miscarriage. But in March 2010, their first child, a boy named Clint, was born, igniting the start of a remarkable chapter in their lives. Over the years, five sons and six daughters followed, each with names beginning with the letter “C”: Clint, Clay, Cade, Callie, Cash, twins Colt and Case, Calena, Caydie, Coralee, Caris, and the youngest, Cambria.
Courtney reflects on the balanced beauty of their family, with boys and girls alternating in birth order. The love and camaraderie among siblings create a harmonious and vibrant household, where each child finds their unique place.
Courtney’s motherhood journey was characterized by rapid pregnancies, with the longest gap being seven months. Starting at the age of 26, she never envisioned herself as the mother of 12 children. “I thought I was too old at 26, and I didn’t know they would come so quickly, including a set of twins,” Courtney shared.
Their initial plan was to cap their family at 10 children, but the Rogers’ unyielding love and thriving family dynamics inspired them to extend it to 12. Courtney admits her desire for even more children, acknowledging her youthful spirit and good health that supported her through the pregnancies.
Managing a large family requires creativity and coordination. Courtney navigates the family’s hectic routines, with meals that often resemble a production line. Breakfast might involve consuming 24 eggs and a box of cereal in one go. Lunch is a self-serve affair for the older children, while dinner ranges from pancakes to spaghetti to cater to everyone’s appetites.
The Rogers family places a strong emphasis on education. Afternoons are dedicated to learning languages, reading, drawing, and even piano lessons. Amid the whirlwind of parenting 12 children, Courtney and Chris are dedicated to providing a well-rounded and enriching environment for their cherished brood.
