The birth of a child is widely considered the most momentous occasion in a person’s life. There is no universally defined “perfect time” for it; rather, it depends on individual circumstances and aspirations. However, eyebrows were raised when 74-year-old Indian woman Erramatti Mangayamma recently delivered twins.
Every day, hundreds of children are born across the world. Fresh life is generated, the human species is perpetuated, and an infinite number of possibilities are conceived. Erramatti Mangayamma, 74, and her husband had long desired to have children.
The birth of the twins will surpass the mark set by an Indian woman who gave birth to twins at the age of 70 in 2015.
The couple wed in 1962 and attempted for several years to conceive. Their efforts, however, were unsuccessful. Even though the pair aged, their ambition was never realized.
Recently, a 55-year-old lady in their neighborhood became pregnant through in vitro fertilization. Mangayamma was influenced by her.
She and her husband contacted the Ahalya Nursing Home in the city of Guntur.

They met IVF experts Dr.Sanakkayala Umashankar. The physicians extracted sperm from Mangayamma’s spouse and attempted IVF. The doctors’ efforts were successful. Mangayamma was able to give birth to twins due to this specific form of fertilization.
“I am quite content. According to the Telegraph, Mrs. Mangayamma remarked, “God has answered our prayers.”
Obviously, Mangayamma is long past menopause and has thus been impregnated with donor eggs and her husband’s sperm.

As a result, there have been several claims that the competent medical team should not have let a lady of such old age to undergo fertilization. But, her physicians have fought back.
Dr. Umashankar stated, “A medical board deemed her healthy enough to undergo the treatment and sent her to us. To me it was simply another case.”
When asked what he thought of her old age, he responded, “That’s an emotional subject. I cannot respond.”
According per the Telegraph, another woman in Mrs Mangayamma’s neighborhood succeeded to conceive with IVF at 55, and so Mangayamma and her husband consulted IVF professionals, who in turn chose to help them.
Prior to Mrs. Mangayamma, the record for oldest woman to give birth was held by a 72-year-old lady.
