Ryan Reynolds Wants to Make ‘The Proposal 2’ with Sandra Bullock

Fans of the beloved 2009 rom-com The Proposal may have a reason to celebrate as Ryan Reynolds has expressed strong interest in reuniting with Sandra Bullock for a sequel. The original film followed Canadian publishing executive Margaret Tate (Bullock), who convinces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) to marry her to avoid deportation. Their arrangement unexpectedly blossoms into real love, making for one of the most cherished romantic comedies of its time.

Now, Reynolds, 48, has hinted that both he and Bullock, 60, would “love” to revisit their characters and explore what happened to Margaret and Andrew after the events of the first movie. “There is nobody in this business that can compare to Sandra Bullock,” Reynolds said. “She’s universally respected, but also incredibly kind. I would do anything, anything with Sandy.” He also revealed that they still talk often and both have a shared interest in making a sequel happen. “I hope we get the chance to do that.”

While no official confirmation has been made, the enthusiasm from both lead stars could be a promising sign. Reynolds went on to praise the art of comedy, highlighting its unique blend of technical precision, drama, and emotional warmth. “There’s so much technicality to it all. And it’s fascinating because it always has to work in concert with drama and emotion.”
