Transforming the Airbus H225M Transport Helicopter: Introducing Cutting-Edge Upgrades with H-Force Special Weapons System
This summer, the Hungarian Air Force is set to welcome the arrival of Airbus H225M helicopters, as confirmed by Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky following a successful test on April 6 at the Nullapont firing range.
The Hungarian Defense Forces are eagerly anticipating the delivery of the Airbus H225M helicopters, which will be equipped with a specialized weapon system known as HForce. HForce is a unique and flexible weapon system tailored to meet the needs of defense agencies seeking light attack capabilities or looking to enhance their existing fleet of specialized attack helicopters. Hungary will be the first country in the world to introduce this combination with the HForce weapon system.
“Today, here in Várpalota, you could see how this unguided missile was fired and hit its target precisely. This is a very modern 21st-century development, a major advancement in the digital force, which will soon be in operation in the Hungarian Air Force. Peace requires strength, and we will continue to work,” remarked Hungarian Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
The Hungarian Ministry of Defense has placed an order for 16 H225M multi-purpose helicopters equipped with the HForce weapon management system. Airbus has provided extensive training and support to ensure the highest level of operational readiness. These H225Ms will feature state-of-the-art communication capabilities and will be utilized for transport, combat search and rescue, as well as special operations missions.
With its cutting-edge avionics, four-axis autopilot, remarkable range and payload capacities, and a spacious cabin capable of accommodating up to 28 troops, the H225M is equipped to undertake the most demanding missions. Additionally, its powerful air-to-ground and air-to-surface armament, along with electronic warfare systems, further enhance its operational capabilities.
