Arie Luyendyk Jr. Shares First Photos of Newborn Twins with Wife Lauren Burnham
Arie Luyendyk Jr., the former star of “The Bachelor,” has delighted fans by sharing the first photos of his newborn twins with his wife, Lauren Burnham. On Tuesday, Arie posted a heartwarming snapshot of Lauren, who is 29 years old, in her hospital bed, with their baby boy and baby girl swaddled up close to her. Arie wrote, “Never been prouder of my wife than in this moment. She is the strongest woman I know, and I’m lucky to be on this incredible journey with her. We are proud parents of a healthy boy and girl.”
In another snapshot, Lauren is seen holding her newborn girl’s hand, while two additional images showcase the little ones looking cozy in fleece swaddles. Lauren also shared the same photos on her personal Instagram account, showing her snuggling up to the newborns after her C-section and the twins side by side in soft blankets at the hospital. Arie expressed his gratitude, saying, “Momma and babies are doing great, and everything went smoothly. Spending time cherishing these moments; thank you all for your support.”
While Arie confirmed their arrival, he did not reveal the names they chose for their new-born son and daughter. However, the couple dropped a hint about their names at their recent baby shower, where they had a giant ‘Baby L & S’ sign as part of their backyard decor. Lauren revealed that they had decided on the names for their new arrivals years ago, saying, “We’ve had them picked out for the last couple of years. We came up with Alessi’s name. Right after we decided on her name, we actually chose the next two for our boy and our girl. It just ended up working out where we’re now having a boy and a girl. So we’re just gonna use both of those names that we loved.”
Before their arrival, Arie documented their time in the hospital as they awaited the surgery. He kept fans updated on the progress of his wife’s pregnancy, including one video where he explained that Lauren was waiting in triage to see if she was going to give birth that day.
The 39-year-old later snapped a quick video of a nurse setting up a heart monitor around his wife’s stomach, expressing his excitement and relief. He said, “Lauren is just so excited; she started crying right away. I feel like this is excitement, relief. I think there was a chance that we were going to go home, and luckily, they were able to fit us in.” Both Arie and Lauren looked thrilled as they prepared to meet their little ones.
Arie also uploaded another video of himself grabbing Lauren’s stuff from their car and praised his wife for being a “tough woman,” especially considering she had a hard time with nausea.
Meanwhile, Lauren, who is 29 years old, posted a sweet selfie of the two of them together with a white heart emoji and a few silly snaps of her husband wearing scrubs. She later informed her followers, “We’re having a C-section very soon.”
Just last month, Lauren spoke about being pregnant during the pandemic, her food cravings, and self-isolating after her husband contracted coronavirus last year. Arie recalled the stressful experience, saying, “That was extremely stressful. I kind of suspected he had it right from the beginning. He woke up with a dry cough, headache, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you have to isolate right now.’ He ended up isolating in our master bedroom area, and Alessi and I stayed in the other part of the house, so we just kind of stayed away from each other for a couple of weeks. It was extremely stressful being that close to something that I felt could hurt my babies.”
