Mother of Twins: Embracing the Challenges and Rewards of Nursing – ‘It’s a lot of work, but I won’t give up.’
“It’s a lot of work,” says Ashley Graham about breastfeeding twins. No, I won’t.
Ashley Graham, a renowned celebrity and public figure, has become a champion of body positivity by becoming the first-ever plus-size model. Throughout her pregnancy, she has remained authentic and transparent, sharing her journey and showcasing the realities of parenthood.
Ashley Graham is the mother of a boy and a pair of twins. She is emphatic in her message that every mother has the right to choose whether breastfeeding is right for her, regardless of society’s expectations.
In a recent interview, Graham was candid about the aftermath of pregnancy that every woman goes through but doesn’t always share. The model said she also considered keeping some things to herself. For example, “how your body changes when you’re pregnant, and the stretch marks and the loose skin, the formula, the breastfeeding,” she shares. Graham also adds the factor of how people tell you to feed your child.
Ashley also shared about her experience with breastfeeding: “With my first child, I was like, ‘I can only breastfeed! This is the right way!'”
“Then I had the twins, and I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that. This isn’t working. Do you want both? It’s a lot of work. So, I stopped breastfeeding when they were 5 months old and gave them the best formula I could. I was able to find… And these little guys are so strong and so happy,” says Graham.
